Michelle Ochs Appointed as Creative Director of Hervé Léger
Hervé Léger announces the appointment of Michelle Ochs as its new Creative Director. A respected industry veteran and founder of ET OCHS, the eponymous luxury womenswear brand, Ochs brings a wealth of experience and creativity to her new role at Hervé Léger where she will oversee all creative aspects of the brand’s dresses and sportswear collections. This appointment marks an exciting new chapter for Hervé Léger, a brand that redefined the luxury landscape with its iconic styles.
Ochs attended Parsons School of Design in New York, where she earned a BFA in Fashion Design and received Parsons’ top honor of Designer of the Year in 2007. She launched and co-led her namesake label in 2008 and quickly gained recognition in the industry for her uniquely sleek aesthetic and striking cutout silhouettes. The ET OCHS collection quickly became a red-carpet staple, beloved by celebrities and their stylists. Ochs’ designs have been worn by some of the world’s most influential women including Michelle Obama, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, Kate Hudson and many others.
Ochs has achieved both commercial and editorial success; she was the winner of the 2009 Ecco Domani Award, nominee for the 2010 Fashion Group International Rising Star Award, finalist for the 2011 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund and nominee for the 2013 Swarovski Award for Emerging Talent. In 2013, she was also featured on the Forbes 30 Under 30 List. In both 2015 and 2016, Ochs was nominated for the Cooper Hewitt National Design Award for her designer collection and most recently in 2022 and 2023, for ET OCHS. She has been a member of the CFDA since 2012.
“Hervé Léger is a historic fashion house. I am honored to lead the team in this next chapter and make my mark on this iconic brand,” said Michelle Ochs.
“Michelle’s passion for creating unique and striking designs, combined with her deep understanding of the female form, will be instrumental in driving the growth and success of Hervé Léger. We are thrilled to welcome this celebrated designer to our team,” said Melissa Lefere-Cobb, Senior Vice President and Division Head of Hervé Léger at Centric.
Ochs succeeds former Creative Director Christian Juul Nielsen. The inaugural collection designed under Ochs’ creative direction will debut at New York Fashion Week this September.
