To celebrate Earth Month (and Earth Day itself on April 22), a number of Authentic’s brands have launched initiatives or released collections that honor the planet and help contribute to environmental preservation.

Aéropostale and Global Citizen Introduce “Take Action” Collection

 

The Aéropostale x Take Action apparel collection, released in partnership with international advocacy organization Global Citizen, is engaging the youth with a range of eco-conscious and trendy styles. Each product in the collection includes a QR code that drives consumers to the Take Action platform, which encourages individuals to make an impact. The collection features 15 gender-neutral pieces designed to resonate with the spirit of activism, embodying the essence of youth empowerment. From bold graphic tees to versatile hoodies, each item is carefully crafted to inspire and engage today's socially conscious youth.


Billabong and Coral Gardeners Partner to Save the World’s Coral Reefs

 

Billabong and French Polynesia-based nonprofit Coral Gardeners have introduced an apparel collection with the mission of saving coral reefs. The line of tees, shorts, sweatshirts and swimwear—all made of recycled and organic materials—is available online, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting coral reef restoration efforts globally.


Eddie Bauer Seeds Eco-Conscious Totes for Earth Day

 

As part of Eddie Bauer’s continued partnership with nonprofit American Forests, the brand is gifting content creators cooler totes that include Baja apparel styles with a foraging design, High Jinx clogs for gardening, as well as potted herbs and seeding kits to drive awareness toward being environmentally conscious. The brand has partnered with American Forests for a quarter century, helping to plant more than eight million trees among threatened ecosystems in the U.S. and Canada.


Nautica Partners With Oceana to Protect Earth’s Waters

 

Nautica is joining forces once again with the world’s largest ocean conservation nonprofit, Oceana, to help protect the world’s bodies of water and marine life. Throughout the month, consumers can round up their purchases on Nautica.com to the next dollar to help support the organization as part of its longstanding partnership with the brand, which began in 2008.

The brand is also highlighting Wavemakers, people and organizations who inspire others to learn explore and act to make positive change in the world. Among them are Dr. Shireen Rahimi, an award-winning filmmaker and marine anthropologist who creates visual stories to highlight peoples’ emotional relationships with the natural world, and Maddie Kaufman, the program director of the Debris Free Oceans organization that empowers local communities to eliminate waste through education, advocacy and outreach events.


Sperry’s SeaCycled Collection Prioritizes Sustainability and Style

 

Focusing on sustainability without compromising style, Sperry’s SeaCycled footwear are made with recycled and eco-friendly materials and manufacturing processes. On average, the equivalent of 12 recycled plastic bottles is used to make one pair of shoes. Reclaimed leathers made from repurposed leather waste and recycled rubber outsoles that keep rubber out of landfills are also used in the SeaCycled range.

Responsibly designed, Rockport’s Eco option uses more than 55% recycled materials to help reduce its impact on the Earth’s resources. The brand is focused on creating well-made shoes that last and delivering choices that align with customers’ personal commitment to the environment.
