At Cannes, Authentic Live Made the Case for Culture as Commerce

 

From an Evening on the Croisette to back-to-back appearances by Shaquille O'Neal on the Sport Beach mainstage, Authentic's week at the 73rd Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity reflected a platform operating at its fullest capacity, across yachts, main stages and intimate dinners alike.

During Cannes Lions, the world's most influential voices in creativity, media, marketing and entertainment converge on the French Riviera each June for five days of conversation and connection. For the second consecutive year, Authentic Live arrived not simply to attend, but to shape the conversation.

From Late Night on the Riviera to a series of curated daytime and evening experiences across the Croisette, Authentic's 2026 presence at Cannes Lions reflected a maturing vision for what the Authentic Live platform can do: convene the right people, at the right moment, in the right room.


An Evening on the Croisette Opens the Week

Authentic Live launched its Cannes Lions 2026 presence with An Evening on the Croisette, hosted in partnership with United Talent Agency at UTA Beach. The evening brought together a curated mix of C-suite executives, athletes, entertainers and industry figures for a night defined by energy, connection and live music. DJ Austin Millz headlined a set that carried the gathering well into the evening.

Swan Beauty served throughout the night as an exclusive partner, with product displays and branded touchpoints woven into the event environment. The step-and-repeat wall, jointly branded by Authentic Live and UTA, served as a focal point for the evening's most candid moments, capturing the breadth of talent and industry leadership in the room.


Brunch on the Riviera

Daytime

Tuesday opened with Brunch on the Riviera, an intimate daytime gathering aboard a private yacht that offered a moment for industry leaders to connect, reflect and engage in more deliberate conversation against one of the world's most striking backdrops: the Bay of Cannes.

Evening

That night, Authentic Live hosted its Upfront in partnership with Omnicom and Adobe aboard the Swan Beauty Yacht. Set to the French Riviera at dusk, the event brought together brand leaders, agency partners and creative executives for a moderated panel conversation on deck, exploring Authentic's evolving brand platform and the strategic power of partnership in unlocking new consumer experiences across the portfolio.

After Hours

As the panel concluded, the yacht transformed for Swan Beauty After Hours, a distinct shift in atmosphere that marked the transition from business to celebration on the water.

Swan Beauty's signature aesthetic took over the deck in full, including branded mirrors and interactive product displays open to guests. The evening progressed with a live saxophone performance creating a lively environment for guests to socialize and enjoy light bites. The event drew together creators, tastemakers and industry leaders for a night on the water that reflected both the polish of the Swan Beauty brand and the hospitality that has come to define Authentic Live's presence at Cannes.


Shaquille O'Neal Takes Two Stages

Mainstage · Sport Beach: Eli Lilly

At Sport Beach, Shaquille O'Neal joined Eli Lilly Chief Marketing Officer Lina Polimeni for a session titled "More Than a Moment: How Eli Lilly and Shaq Built a Partnership That Lasts." The conversation examined what separates transactional endorsements from enduring brand relationships. Exploring how trust, shared values and long-term vision can transform a commercial collaboration into genuine cultural impact, O'Neal opened up about the philosophy underpinning his global influence.

Mainstage · Amazon at Cannes Lions

Later that day, O'Neal returned to the Cannes Lions stage for a session with Amazon titled "Built Different: When Talent Becomes the Brand." The conversation traced the evolution of his identity from athlete to global business figure, and how authenticity, strategic discipline and a willingness to build for the long term have shaped an empire that extends well beyond sport. O'Neal's appearance served as a masterclass in what the Authentic platform makes possible at scale.

OBB Media and Authentic Present Les Cent

The week closed with Les Cent, a curated yacht dinner presented jointly by OBB Media and Authentic Brands Group. Deliberately intimate in scale, the evening convened a small, purposefully assembled group of creative voices, executives and cultural figures for a multi-course dinner on the water, complete with a formal menu, co-branded OBB and Authentic table settings and a sunset over the Bay of Cannes.
