Roxy: From Snow Club to X Games, How the Brand Blends Fashion With Function

Recognized around the world for its specialty in women’s surf, snow and sport, Roxy embodies a spirit of adventure, freedom and athleticism through designs that empower an active lifestyle. Since 1990, it has earned a reputation for blending fashion with function, making it the go-to brand for women and girls who live for the thrill of the outdoors.

IT BEGAN WITH A BOARDSHORT

Roxy created a solution for active girls seeking a short that provided the same flexibility demanded by every athlete. Inspired by the Hawaiian woman’s outrigger and surf teams, the signature boardshort was born, offering better fit and improved mobility. It allowed female surfers to perform at their best without sacrificing style. The success of this piece paved the way for Roxy to dominate the female surfwear market, eventually expanding into snow, fitness and lifestyle fashion.

MAKE WAVES. MOVE MOUNTAINS.

To unwind from chilly temperatures, Roxy girls enjoyed hearty meals and warm drinks in cozy yurts, providing an ideal escape from the cold.

“Being a Roxy girl is about embracing your true self, conquering the waves of life with strength and confidence, and knowing that every adventure is an opportunity to write your own story.”

— Caroline Marks, Professional Surfer and 2024 Olympic Gold Medalist, USA

“A Roxy girl means to me that I can freely be my authentic self, share my love for the ocean and anything that I am passionate about, being part of powerful family and being a badass girl while still having so much fun and doing the hula 😜🏄🏾‍♀️ 💃🏾”

— Vahine Fierro, Professional Surfer, Tahiti

“Being a Roxy girl is like getting a bonus family. It’s about being part of a group of women who lift each other up during tough times and share magical, hilarious moments together. The Roxy team reflects the millions of things that make women incredible: strength, passion, determination, softness, kindness, uniqueness, humor, empathy… It’s all there in our wonderful team.”

— Zoé Grospiron, Professional Longboarder, France

“To me, Roxy means presenting [myself] as the woman I am. I can be girly and feminine, but at the same time throw down some big tricks, represent more of the masculine side in a queer relationship. Roxy lets me be me. It’s not one or the other.”

— Lara Wolf, Professional Skier, Austria

Being a Roxy girl, to me, is like having an all-access pass to a life of adventure, confidence and staying true to who you are. It’s about chasing fresh powder, conquering mountains—both real and metaphorical—and doing it all with a big smile and fearless energy. A Roxy girl isn’t afraid to carve her own path, take a few tumbles and get right back up with style and strength. And, hey, it’s not just about the thrill; it’s about inspiring others to embrace the ride, dream big and find the fun in every turn, no matter where the slopes lead.“

— Remi Kusunoki, Professional Snowboarder, Japan

“I have grown and evolved with the brand, transitioning from my teenage years to young adulthood. I am truly honored to call myself a Roxy girl. I feel like a superhero when I wear the products: proud and strong. I have had the opportunity to meet extraordinary champions, both in the world of snow and the ocean, and they have shaped who I am today. I can’t wait to share the future together and inspire future young girls and women with Roxy!”

— Tess Ledeux, Professional Skier, France
