How does your creative vision at Hervé Léger reflect the evolution of body confidence and shaping?
In my whole career, I’ve always been about bodycon, body confidence and body sculpting. I felt like [joining the brand] was a very full-circle moment. I think the language around body and all that shaping has evolved over time, and I think there’s just so much more language, DNA and positivity around it, that really, for a brand like this, it’s the perfect storm—where we can highlight that and showcase our product and where we are today.
What makes the Hervé Léger bandage dress a timeless design that resonates across generations?
The bandage dress is fun. I think it had such a huge moment with the supermodels in the ‘90s; it had the runway. A lot of the nostalgia is coming from Gen Z and them looking back at the archival moments. But what I love about the brand is that it speaks to today. It’s as timeless as it was in the ‘90s, and Gen Z is discovering it for the first time. So it's a really exciting moment.
What’s amazing about Hervé Léger is the sculpting knit. It really conforms to your body after putting it on. It’s a combination of the material that we use—the compression and the right formula of that. I always say that the look can be imitated, but what can’t be duplicated is the way you feel in it.
What is the future of Hervé Léger?
My goal with Hervé Léger is to modernize it. It’s about using the amazing bandage material and new techniques. It’s about styling. It’s about pushing her forward. A lot of the younger girls are gravitating towards it. It speaks to how timeless the product is, and that’s what I think is really amazing.
Initially, when I started, there was a thought that Hervé Léger was tight, short, lots of skin, high heels. I wanted to break that stereotype. So, for me, the lookbook was important in styling and reframing her. I would love for Hervé Léger to expand into multiple categories. I want to own her look from head to toe—from the perfume that she puts on to the sunglasses and the heels. I think Hervé Léger has limitless opportunities.
